Jagua is an all natural product that is made from the rainforest fruit Genipa Americana. In its unripe stage, the fruit is juiced and the resulting juice is used to create a stain that South American natives have used for body adornment for more than 2,000 years. The realistic blue/black, yet temporary, stain it leaves on the skin is completely safe and 100% natural. Zee does not recommend the use of "black henna" which is a chemical based product containing P.P.D. and extremely hazardous. Jagua is a safe alternative when you want a black stain without the risks!
Jagua is applied in the same manner as henna (cone applicator). Once applied it will take approximately 30 minutes for the gel to dry. It is recommended to keep the gel on for 2-4 hours then wash off the gel with warm water and soap. After removal the design will be a light grey/green - don't panic! This is normal as jagua takes ~12 hours for the stain to mature into the beautiful blue/black (depending on the body part) stain. Jagua designs will last 2-3 weeks after application. These are great for testing out tattoo designs without having to commit to a permanent tattoo!
